Before I stumbled into the smash hit that Sports Casualties has become, I wrote for a couple of different Web sites. One of them was Seamheads.com, a baseball site full of writers far more knowledgeable and qualified than myself. Amongst numerous veteran writers and members of SABR, I was rather privileged to have my name included as a contributor.
Anyways, Seamheads is run by a very talented writer and baseball historian by the name of Mike Lynch. Today, I received a message from Mike about a tragic situation that a good friend of his has experienced.
Tony and Raelynn Hurt recently lost their daughter, Cassidy, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. She was 18 months old.
In honor of Cassidy and her family, the Cassidy Anne Hurt Memorial Fund has been established. Mike has asked all of his friends with blogs to link to an article that he wrote Sunday about his friends’ loss. The article also includes directions of how to donate to the Memorial Fund if you choose to do so. I have included the link here.
